The Manager, Finance will play a hands‑on role in developing and executing the organization’s financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning activities. This position is responsible for building and maintaining detailed financial models, performing in‑depth analyses, and delivering timely, actionable insights to support day‑to‑day and strategic decision‑making across both shoreside and shipboard operations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a start‑up environment where processes are still being built and refined.
This role will be deeply involved in the implementation of finance systems and tools, as well as the development and documentation of financial policies, procedures, and planning processes. The successful candidate brings a strong sense of ownership, flexibility, and enthusiasm, and is eager to roll up their sleeves to help establish a scalable finance function as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning, Analysis & Budgeting:

- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for the overall organization, including both shoreside and shipboard operations.
- Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering operating expenses, capital expenditures, headcount, voyage economics, and corporate overhead.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages, including variance analyses versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, with clear explanations and actionable insights.
- Perform profitability, cost, and trend analyses to support operational and strategic decisions across departments.
- Partner with department leaders to understand business drivers, challenge assumptions, and support financially sound decision-making.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling related to pricing, itinerary planning, staffing models, vendor contracts, and operational initiatives.
- Support the development of KPIs and performance metrics relevant to a luxury cruise/yachting operation.
- Long‑Range Planning & Strategic Support:

- Support the development of long‑term financial plans, including multi‑year operating plans and capital investment roadmaps.
- Assist with strategic initiatives, including new vessel planning, route expansion, and scalability assessments.
- Prepare financial analyses and materials for executive leadership and key stakeholders, as needed.
- Cash Planning & Liquidity Analysis:

- Develop and maintain short‑term and long‑term cash flow forecasts, incorporating operating, investing, and financing activities.
- Analyze working capital trends and support proactive cash management planning.
- Partner with accounting and treasury functions to ensure alignment between forecasts, actual results, and liquidity planning.
- Accounting & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Accounting to ensure alignment between actual results, forecasts, and financial models.
- Support accounting close processes by providing analytical review and variance explanations.
- Ensure financial plans and forecasts are consistent with GAAP/IFRS treatment and underlying accounting assumptions.
- Start-Up Responsibilities & Systems Implementation:
- Participate in finance system implementations, including FP&A tools, ERP integrations, and reporting solutions.
- Assist in designing, documenting, and improving financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes as the organization scales.
- Develop and document financial policies, procedures, and internal workflows related to budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Support cross-functional projects and provide financial expertise in a fast-changing environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or related roles.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with FP&A, ERP, or planning tools (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Hyperion, Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience supporting multi-department or operationally complex environments; cruise line, maritime, hospitality, or travel industry experience is a strong plus.
- Startup or high-growth company experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in an evolving environment.
