JOB SUMMARY

Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is looking for an Accounting Intern to join our Accounting team for the 2026 season. This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) running from mid-May through the first week of August.

The Accounting Intern will assist the accounting team with daily financial operations including cash management, reconciliations, and accounts payable support. This internship provides hands-on exposure to accounting processes within a fast-paced seasonal business environment.Β This internship provides hands-on experience with core accounting processes including reconciliations, cash controls, accounts payable support, and month-end close activities.

What You Will Gain

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily cash deposits to the bank
  • Maintain adequate cash levels in the safe and ATM
  • Provide change to other departments as needed
  • Assist accounting staff with daily checkouts
  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close procedures
  • Support Accounts Payable by posting invoices
  • Perform general accounting office duties
  • Support accounting staff with data entry and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to count cash accurately
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Physical Demands and Environment

  • Must be comfortable sitting for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable working in an indoor office environment
  • Must be comfortable driving locally to make bank deposits
  • Must be adaptive and responsive to changes in technology
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still adhering to deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
