Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for ensuring component part and final product quality by establishing proper operational controls, procedures, and systems.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Management System at Saris. Establish the resources necessary to support the system.

  • Create and maintain Quality Assurance Manuals and supporting documents including but not limited to Production Control Plans, Supplier Evaluations, and Internal Audit Plans.
  • Establish metrology system, including gage maintenance and calibration, gage correlation, measurement work instructions, and measurement system analysis.
  • Perform quality inspections.
  • Train personnel on how to perform quality inspections.

Work closely with domestic and international suppliers and partners to establish systems and processes to ensure quality of all component parts, including:

  • Incoming components arriving domestically
  • Incoming components arriving internationally
  • Internally fabricated components

Work closely with domestic and international suppliers and partners to establish systems and processes to ensure quality of all finished goods, including:

  • Establish and document final inspection and quality criteria for products manufactured domestically and internationally.
  • Establish manufacturing procedures and tests to validate the aforementioned quality standards.
  • Review and approve the inspection reports prior to shipment.

Audit vendor quality management program.

  • Review supplier quality inspection documentation.
  • Ensure competency in vendor QA personnel and methods.
  • Provide guidance for Sourcing when evaluating potential vendors.

Champion investigation of nonconformances and corrective actions.

Participate in new product development through engineering drawing reviews, gage creation, and quality plan implementation.

Travel domestically and internationally to support vendor visits.

Perform other duties as required or requested



Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or 5+ years equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working with vendors and partners in Asia
  • Adequate knowledge of quality controls and processes, DFMEA/PFMEA, project management, SPC, and six sigma
  • Comprehension of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, stamping, injection molding, bending, laser cutting, machining, and coating
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent quality management system
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to use quality inspection instruments and equipment, including a CMM.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills – written & verbal
  • Ability to gather, interpret, & analyze data and present in a logical format
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Prior experience within the cycling or outdoor industry
  • Enthusiasm for the cycling/outdoor/triathlon industry
