Quality Engineer / Auditor (Vietnam)

Quality Engineer/Auditor is responsible to strengthen long‑term partnerships by elevating supplier capability, product quality, and operational performance.
We work closely with suppliers to build a resilient supply chain that supports our shared purpose of “Pedaling the Planet Forward.”
This role is key to that mission—enabling suppliers to grow, improve, and succeed through structured development, transparent metrics, and continuous improvement.
Role Mission
Lead supplier development activities that reinforce collaboration, improve product quality, enhance delivery reliability, and support NPI readiness.
Utilize the Supplier Development Framework—including SQM, assessments, CAPA, scorecards, training, and recognition—to drive measurable improvement and long‑term supplier excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. SQM Training & Supplier Onboarding
- Deliver Supplier Quality Manual (SQM) training to ensure suppliers fully understand SBC expectations and quality requirements.
- Support supplier onboarding and verify readiness through documentation, risk checks, and alignment sessions.
2. Supplier Assessment (SA) & QMS/Process Audits
- Execute supplier assessments and on‑site QMS/process audits based on annual key‑supplier ranking and project priority.
- Evaluate risk levels and manufacturing capabilities (assembly, carbon composites, welding, machining, heat treatment, painting, surface treatment).
- Identify process gaps and generate audit findings requiring corrective action.
3. CAPA Leadership & Structured Problem Solving
- Lead end‑to‑end CAPA management for all SA/audit findings until full closure and effectiveness verification.
- Coach suppliers in 8D, DMAIC, 5Why, fishbone analysis, and data‑driven root‑cause investigation.
- Ensure strong recurrence prevention, and contribute to Lessons Learned & Best Practices documentation.
4. Metrics, Scorecard & Governance
- Consolidate SA audit performance, CAPA closure rate, and supplier KPIs (PPM, DPPM, FPY, OTD, On‑time PPAP).
- Integrate results into the Supplier Scorecard and support annual supplier evaluation and ranking.
- Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting across SEA.
5. Partnership Engagement & Capability Building
- Deliver capability‑building programs: FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, visual management, 5S/TPM, ESD/cleanliness, and other best practices.
- Act as a technical and communication bridge among suppliers across Vietnam, Cambodia, and SEA.
- Foster strong supplier relationships, recognize excellence, and promote long‑term collaboration and continuous improvement culture.
Qualifications
Must‑Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- 3+ years of auditing experience in manufacturing, quality, supplier development, or QMS-related roles
(Senior Level: 5+ years of QMS/process audit experience). - Internal or external auditor certification (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, IATF 16949, or VDA 6.3); highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills in Vietnamese, English, and Chinese; comfortable working across TW/China/SEA cultures.
- Practical experience in at least one key manufacturing process: assembly, carbon composites, welding, machining, heat treatment, painting, surface treatment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills (8D, A3, 5Why, DOE fundamentals) with the ability to validate root cause and recurrence prevention.
- Gemba Mindset with strong observation skills and the ability to identify critical improvement opportunities.
- Execution & Accountability: strong follow‑through, milestone tracking, and closed‑loop management.
- Collaborative Leadership: able to influence suppliers through data, transparency, and partnership.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience with suppliers in China, Vietnam, or Southeast Asia; cross‑region production transfer exposure.
- Background in NPI project management, fixture/jig engineering, or metrology (CMM, optical, roughness).
- IE tools (VSM, SMED, standard work) and Knowledge of cost analysis (BOM, labor time, yield impact).
